Bio
A graduate from the School of Art Institute of Chicago, Ajani Crowell is a Black, mixed-media artist who grew up in Northern Virginia. Using painting and digital art, Crowell explores human emotion by juxtaposing nature with the human body. Her fluid paintings of figures in space push nihilism to the point of serenity. Her knowledge in various mediums of art allows her to combine and manipulate her work to create something new, allowing her to start exploring her interests in abstract art, playing with color, transparency, and textures. She has shown work at SAIC’s Incubator space and hopes to dive even deeper into larger scale paintings.
